Braydon's growing up quickly

He is almost a year old, believe it or not?!?!. April 22nd will be Braydon't first birthday, for which I'm both excited and somewhat saddened by. He is progressing so very quickly and understands so much of every word and/or sentence we put together for him. Just yesterday I asked him where his "red balloon" was and without hesitation his eyes looked skyward and he found the darn thing up near the ceiling where I left it. That amazed me folks!!! Watching him grow up on a daily basis is assuredly the most gratifying thing that I've ever experienced in my life and I look forward to raising him to be an upstanding little man.

Currently, I'm sitting here at work with two more patients to see. I can't wait to get home and give that boy o' mine a big hug, a bunch of kisses, and a few tickles in his secret tickle spot that only mommy and daddy know about....hehe!!! :)

I'm here in Somerset, Kentucky this Friday afternoon enjoying two things.....one being a Diet Coke, and the second some quiet time while Braydon is napping away in a cool dark room. It's been a hectic/tiring week thusfar and will make me Thankful to be back to normalcy at work Monday morning. Are vacations supposed to be relaxing and/or peaceful/restful?!?!? Either way, I'm glad that I got to see my family during the week and I'm glad they were able to spend some time with Braydon before our flight back to the Sunshine State tomorrow evening. Now, for another sip of the bubbly......

Braydon will now have a beach to play on, Kylee will have a larger play area, and Jessica and I will have a boat slip with which to park our SeaRay and acreage to possibly build on in a few years when the real estate market returns and we can offload our current home.

This has been a relatively long time in the making, and most recently, the price lowered into the range that made it affordable for us. As you can see, orange groves surround the property so we'll always have fresh orange juice for those who wish to visit!!!! This is pretty big news for us and way way "outside the box" for me..... as I am truly thrifty having grown up around THE BEST of examples. That being said, seeing little Braydon, little Abigail, or little Benjamin, et al play on our white sandy beach someday will make it all worthwhile! Even with the pesky Mosquitoes!! :)

Thanks go out to my beautiful wife Jessica for nudging me outside my comfort zone and making me aware of quality of life for the future purchased at today's depressed prices!

I just had a patient that, when we were talking about cell phone plans, told me he paid $100/month for his cell phone. He has unlimited text messages, data plan, calling, etc....

I looked right at him and said, "Wow, I just can't afford that much" and then watched his reaction..... for which there was none!

I can't believe he "can't afford" healthcare, yet he can pay $1200/year to have a cell phone plan.

My personal family medical insurance (for 3 people) costs me approximately $1000/year with a large deductible, all yearly well-visits are 100% covered, immunizations 100% covered for Braydon, OB/GYN yearly visit 100% covered for Jessica, etc, etc......

ridiculous... Ugh...

Note to Rachel and Chuck:

Congrats you guys!!! You will hear this more time that you'll care to remember....but your life will be completely different after the lil' one is born. My recommendation is....within the next 3-4 months, TAKE A VACATION SOMEWHERE NICE....trust me, you will want one 2 months after cheerio is born!!! Another thing you'll hear is that you'd better get your rest now before baby arrives...cuz they wear you flat out of all your youthful energy...be forewarned! They're awesome though...when they smile at you when they see your face or just seeing them happy in general when they wake up from a quick nap truly warms your heart in a way you've never ever experienced before (I'm teary-eyed just thinking about Braydon's little smile!!)

Anyways, congrats again... so very happy for you!!! Now, go take a nap!!! and eat your prenatal vitamins!! and turn on some classical music!!! and eat an extra 300 calories per day!!! and start saving for cheerio's college!! Charlie, start running more...the weight will pile on the further the pregnancy goes and the more Rachel has "cravings"......

I'll just stop there for now.... live and learn.

Braydon is getting more cute every day........and heavier....11lbs 2.5oz tonight with empty diaper. I'm calling him "chunk" for short...... hahaha.

This virus is no different than the common flu other than it being a different strain. Just wash your hands frequently, cover your mouth when you cough and ask others to do the same in return, and don't touch your face unless you've washed your hands FIRST!!! There have only been 109 reported & confirmed cases in the US and only 1 death.....The population of the USA is over 300,000,000....the chances of YOU dying from this is 1 in 300 million. You have a much better chance at winning the lottery three times in a row than catching and dying from this virus. FYI - people die from the common flu too.... this is no different. Treat it like any other virus....it will pass!

We are at the Hospital (Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Florida) and I'm sitting beside Jessica on the Labor & Delivery floor, Room 7, on a very short couch!

Jessica has been given some medicine to help her deliver the baby and we're basically waiting for something to happen. ;)

Teresa and Bill are here keeping us company and waiting on the baby as well.

My Mom and Dad are driving down from Kentucky Wednesday morning and will be here sometime mid-afternoon.

BTW, there is a lady next door delivering a baby and SCREAMING her lungs out....she must have not recieved an epidural...hehehe ***What a mistake***
